How SoulUp Grew Its AEO/GEO Citation Footprint Across Google AI by 65%
Words from the Founder
“The Revenify team worked with us like an extension of SoulUp. They were thoughtful about the category, quick with execution, and clear about what needed to be built next. What we appreciated most was the balance of strategy and consistency — building pages, improving structures, tightening internal links, and constantly looking at what was actually moving leads and revenue. That rhythm made the growth compound.”
Punita Mittal, Co-Founder, SoulUp
The first SoulUp case study showed how a product-led SEO system could compound across visibility, traffic, leads and revenue. This second chapter looks at what happened beyond traditional search: how the same foundation expanded SoulUp’s presence across Google’s AI answer surfaces.

The challenge
Mental-health discovery was no longer happening only through a traditional search results page. People were also asking AI systems for explanations, recommendations, comparisons and next steps.
SoulUp already had a growing search footprint across self-assessments, support groups, therapist discovery and condition-led journeys. The opportunity was to understand whether those same assets could become useful sources inside answer engines — without building a disconnected AEO/GEO layer.
The objective was therefore twofold: keep improving the underlying search system, and measure how far that system was travelling across AI-led discovery.
The Revenify approach
We treated AEO/GEO as an extension of the product-led SEO system already being built for SoulUp.
The same assets closest to real user decisions remained the priority: self-assessment journeys, support-group and peer collections, therapist discovery pages and condition-led pages. We strengthened how those assets were structured and connected, while tracking AI citations and mentions as a separate distribution layer.

The results
Metric | Change |
|---|---|
Combined cited-page presence across Google AI | +65% |
Google AI Overview cited-page presence | +300% |
Google AI Mode cited-page presence | +44% |
Gemini cited-page presence | +6% |
Combined mentions across Google AI | +39% |
The headline compares October 2025 with the latest complete month, July 2026. It combines cited-page presence across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini. It is not a count of unique URLs: the same SoulUp page can appear across more than one surface.
AI-search visibility was not linear. The combined citation footprint peaked earlier and then normalized, but still finished 65% above the October baseline. We use the latest endpoint — not the peak — for the headline.
What we changed
1. Kept the focus on high-intent mental-health journeys
Self-assessments, support groups, peer discovery and therapist journeys were built around real user needs rather than generic search volume. Those pages were useful search assets first, which also made them stronger candidates to be understood and cited by answer engines.
2. Expanded structured coverage around real questions
SoulUp’s page system covered conditions, life stages, support needs, therapist discovery and self-understanding journeys. The aim was to answer specific questions clearly while giving related topics a stronger home across the site.
3. Improved page discoverability
Metadata and heading improvements, better page structures, stronger internal linking and more consistent collection pages helped search engines — and increasingly answer engines — discover the important parts of the site.
4. Treated AI search as its own measurement layer
We tracked Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini separately across cited pages, mentions and visibility. That made AI discovery measurable instead of anecdotal.
5. Kept SEO and AEO/GEO in the same operating system
The operating principle stayed simple: strengthen the underlying search asset, then measure how that asset performs across both traditional search and answer engines.
The AEO/GEO operating system

Every Google AI surface finished higher

Mentions expanded alongside citations
Combined mentions across Google’s AI surfaces finished 39% higher over the same full comparison window. Mentions were more volatile than cited-page presence, so we treat them as supporting evidence rather than the hero metric.

AI search is not one channel
One important lesson from the tracking was that answer engines did not move in lockstep. SoulUp’s strongest sustained expansion happened across Google’s AI ecosystem, while ChatGPT followed a different trajectory over the same period.
That is why we would not blend every model into one generic ‘AI visibility’ score. AEO/GEO needs to be measured surface by surface, with the story grounded in the engines where visibility is actually expanding.
What this means
SoulUp did not earn broader AI citation presence by publishing a separate set of pages for bots. The same product-led search architecture that supported self-assessment, support-group and therapist discovery journeys created a broader surface for answer engines to discover, interpret and cite.
SEO built the foundation. AEO/GEO expanded where that foundation could show up.
Impact
Across the full October-to-July comparison window, SoulUp’s combined cited-page presence across Google’s AI surfaces increased 65%. Every tracked Google AI surface finished with a larger cited-page footprint, while combined mentions increased 39%.
More importantly, AI-led discovery became something the team could measure alongside the existing SEO system rather than treating it as a separate experiment or a one-off visibility check.
Working like a true team
SoulUp’s willingness to keep shipping useful pages, refine existing journeys and act quickly on search feedback gave the strategy room to evolve. That same execution rhythm made it possible to extend the search system from traditional SEO into measurable AEO/GEO visibility.
